Quest Nutrition has a wonderful protein bar called the Quest Bar. In many peoples minds they are the best low carb sugar free protein bars.

Here are some pros and cons when considering purchasing and consuming these treats.

Quest Bar Pros

The Quest Bar packs an amazing wallop when it comes to protein. Each bar supplies a generous 20 to 21 grams of protein. The source of the protein is whey which is preferred protein for many athletes and body builders as well as dieters.

The net carbs range from 4 to 7 grams. This is accomplished with the natural sweeteners Stevia and Erythritol. Erythritol is a sugar alcohol which is the only sugar alcohol to not cause gastro-intestinal distress or spike the blood sugar levels. It has also been reported to have antioxidant properties which is a wonderful bonus. 

Another definite pro is the number of delicious flavors. I had a lemon cream pie bar today and it was truly tasty. I have had a number of different brands of protein bars and some of them are just awful. You can't please everyone and that is why I mention some of the complaints that are registered with the consumption of Quest Bars. One complaint is that they do not taste good to everyone. While the vast majority of Amazon reviews are gung ho on taste there are some folks who don't like them.

Another complaint is the texture. If you are familiar with protein bars then you know that they most often resemble cookie dough in their texture and feel. Quest Bars are no exception. I happen to like that texture but not everybody does.

A final con is that some people experience gas and bloating after eating a bar. Again, the preponderance of customer reviews are positive and "gas free" but there are exceptions.

Those are some of my thoughts about Quest Bars. I still feel that they are one of the best low carb sugar free protein bars on the market and I highly recommend that you try them!

Is The Asics Gel-Kayano 23 Better Than The 22?

I have a grand-daughter who runs with ASICS and won't trade them for anything. I have worn ASIACS running shoes for years and in my mind they are absolutely the most comfortable, durable and affordable shoe money can buy.

This video review looks at the ASICS Gel Kayano 23 and it is a very honest review with a conclusion that is not usually found in reviews of this type.

The reviewer gives the Kayano 23 high marks for it's construction and comfort. However, he contends that while the 23 is a great shoe it is not worth the price differential found in the Kayano 22.

I checked some pricing and found the Kayano 23 to be about $30 more and this reviewer says that there is not that much diffence to merit the price.

A great video that still extols the virtue of ASIC running shoes but is unbiased in there assessment of the new model.

Purchase ASICS when you make your next trip to the shoe outlet and buy some Kayano 22's if they have them!

Chromecast Version 2 - Specs, Speed And Review

After weighing my options for several months concerning the big decision to "cut the cord" I finally settled on a Chromecast Version 2 for my choice to make my phone my new remote control!

The Chromecast 2nd generation is different in it's basic design from the original launch product. However, the new design makes the device a much better conduit to make your dumb TV into a smart TV.

The only difficulty I had with the device is that when I first installed it I was having trouble with lost signals after just a few seconds. I remedied this problem by pulling the Chromecast disc out to the side giving it more exposure to my household wifi signal. After I made this adjustment it has worked flawlessly. You could make the same adjustment if you are having similar trouble by using a bit of duct tape to hold it in a receptive position.

This is an excellent review video by Jim's Review Room. He points out that the Chromecast works on android as well as Apple.

It's considerably faster than the first version. It works beautifully with Netflix, Hulu and Youtube. Chrome now has several apps that can be downloaded to your device to make your viewing experience even more enjoyable.
