This past weekend I spent some time on my patio working on an access opening to my home's crawl space. I am getting ready to fix a wood lid on the opening. In order to accomplish this task I needed to find a way to fasten some metal shelf brackets to the concrete. I was reluctant to drill holes and use tapcons because of my fear of cracking the cement.
The solution for me was Locktite PL Premium. I used a relatively small amount of glue on the metal braces and then stuck them to the vertical concrete surface. There was enough tackiness to the glue to hold the braces in place.
The cure time for this product is 24 hours so I put a cover over the opening and left it for the day. When I came back the next day the shelf brackets were secure and the glue was set in a very hard finish.
This glue is very impressive. I will cut my plywood lid and paint it then rest it on the brackets. A longer and more tediuous job was avoided because of this great product
